Seventh Grade Literature

Description: This course will guide your students through The Trojan War, Anne of Green Gables, The Bronze Bow, and The Hobbit. The use of our literature study guides will train your student to become an active reader. The class will focus on the storyline of each book, and vocabulary, spelling, comprehension, and composition skills. Students will be prepared for each chapter, and the comprehension questions will teach your student to think about what they have read and to learn to identify the important content of each story. These comprehension questions will also teach your student the advanced skill of composing a clear, concise answer to a question, a difficult skill at any age. Students will read one book per quarter and daily time spent on the weekly reading will vary per student. The grade is based on participation, periodic reading quizzes, and one enrichment activity per book, submitted to the instructor to be manually graded. This course is especially appropriate for 6th and 7th graders, and/or those who might not be ready to read the more difficult texts in Middle School Literature II.

Grade Level: 6-7

Prerequisites: None. If your student is not ready to read Shakespeare, then choose 6th Grade Literature.

Required Materials: Seventh Grade Literature Set With Novels. The Teacher Guides are optional. Students will also need a USB headset microphone (built-in microphones also work).
