Political Philosophy

Description: A course centered on the basic ideas of political philosophy and the basic structure of and influences on American government, with an emphasis on the differences between classical and modern political thought. Students will need to devote approximately 45-60 minutes per day for this class. The assessment will primarily be based on participation, weekly outlines, reading quizzes, and an essay. This class is worth 1/2 a high school credit in Government, Philosophy, Political Philosophy, or as an Elective.

Grade Level: 10-12

Prerequisites: None

Required Materials: The Soul and The City: A Reader in Moral and Political Philosophy. Students will also need a USB headset microphone (built-in microphones also work).
