First Form Greek
Description: This is the first year of a two-year sequence in Greek for high school students. The course takes a logical, systematic approach to teaching Greek with extensive exercises to ensure mastery and rapid recognition. Students will need 45-60 minutes per day for this class. The grade is based on participation, weekly homework, quizzes, and exams.
Grade Level: 8-12 (ages 13-18)
Prerequisites: It is helpful for students to have had grammar-based Latin instruction but it is not required.
Required Materials: First Form Greek Student text and workbook. Optional but recommended: First Form Greek pronunciation CDs, and
Tyndale House Greek New Testament: Reader’s Edition. Students will also need a USB headset microphone for class (built-in microphones will also work). Students will need Greek fonts on their computer (these are free) and instructions will be provided before class.
