Henle Latin II: Caesar
Description: This class covers the Second Year Henle Text and typically serves as a first translation class. Students will review grammatical and syntactical concepts from Units 8-14 in the first year, including irregular adjectives, ablative absolute, gerunds, gerundives, vocative case, and imperative mood, all while translating portions of Caesar. The second semester of the class is heavier on translations from Caesar. The grade is based on participation, weekly grammar/vocabulary quizzes, weekly translation quizzes that are manually graded, and exams.
Grade Level: 9-12
Prerequisites: Students must have completed the Henle First Year Text, or First through Fourth Form texts, or the equivalent of the entire first year Latin grammar in another program.
Required Materials: Latin: Second Year text and key, and grammar by Robert J. Henle. Students will also need a USB headset microphone microphone (built-in microphones also work).
