Iliad and Odyssey (Self-Paced)

Description: This course entails a detailed reading and study of Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, and the average reader will need 2-3 hours per week to read and answer the study guide questions. The grade is based upon quizzes, mid-term exam, and final exam. No essays or short answer questions will be assigned. As such, it will be up to the parent to ensure the student is fully engaging with the larger themes of the books.

Grade Level: 7-12

Course Format: Students access their self-paced courses through our learning management system. Students are guided by a clear weekly schedule and instructional videos, and they receive feedback in the form of automatically graded assessments. Students will not have access to a live teacher or any discussion forms.

Course Access: This course is planned to take 16 weeks, but as some take a year to complete the course, students will have access to this course for two years starting at the date of purchase.

Prerequisites: We highly recommend that your student reads Famous Men of Greece and The Trojan War prior to the start of the class if the student has no background in the ancient world.
