Richard Marsh studied physics in college before he decided to be a force for good in the lives of young people and pursued education.  He graduated from Friends University in Kansas and has been teaching primarily mathematics and science since 1998.  Mr. Marsh lives in the Orlando area, is a Florida certified teacher with endorsements in mathematics and physics, and has spent years moonlighting at Sylvan Learning Center as an administrator and individual tutor. Believing that a basic education should be formative rather than merely vocational, he emphasizes intellectual skills, the Western Liberal Arts Tradition, and mentoring relationships in developing the human potential of his students. His teaching style is conversational, with demonstration, imitation, and a focus on connecting concepts to computation. Mr. Marsh takes delight in unexpected rhymes, excellent penmanship, mathematical reasoning, sudden song, the pursuit of happiness, and simple hard work.
